In the French horn world, the names of brothers Zdeněk (d. August 18, 2006) and Bedřich Tylšar, former soloists of the Czech Philharmonic, are a mark of excellent artistic performance. On this double album the Tylšars perform these freshly released recordings of double French horn concertos of the second half of the 18th century. The anthology is rounded out by the inclusion of the unique triple concerto by Hanisch, a brilliant hornist who was active in the late 18th century in Prague and in Germany (little else of his life is known). Beethoven's Sextet also showcases the Tylšar brothers as outstanding chamber players.
