Skupinu The Mars Volta založili v roce 2001 Cedric Bixler a Omar Rodriguez ze skupiny At The Drive In a od emo-punku původní kapely ji navigovali do vod hardcore, psychedelic rocku a free-jazzu. V lednu 2013 Cedric oznámil, že již není součástí kapely a došlo k jejímu rozpadu. Oba protagonsité posléze pokračovali ve společné tvorbě pod hlavičkou Antemasque.
Exkluzivní limitovaný (2000 ks) vinylový box je splněným snem mnoha fanoušků těchto alternativních rockerů. Obsahuje osmnáct 180g vinylů, knihu a upomínkové předměty. Box nebude mít CD ani digitální obdobu.
