These outstanding vocal and musical talents featuring world-renowned singers Gabriela Beňačková as Mařenka, Peter Dvorský as Jeník, and Richard Novák as Kecal, as well as brilliant performances by the Czech Philharmonic and the Prague Philharmonic Chorus, conducted by Zdeněk Košler became the basis for this 1981 television production directed by František Filip.
